Alexa is 3!

Now that we live in Utah, we decided to have a small birthday party for Alexa here since our plans to have a party for her in CA fell through. She loves Chuck E. Cheeses so we had dinner and games there and had cake and ice cream at our house. I can't believe my baby girl is already 3!

Alexa's first haircut

I've been waiting for Alexa's hair to grow out before her first haircut. Matthew and I finally felt that it was time and since my brother told me about where he has taken Rhett we decided to go to that kiddie place for her haircut. We made an appointment for Sunday and to be honest I think Matthew and I were more excited/nervous than Alexa. Alexa loves getting beautified but since it was her first time, as parent's, so many things go through your mind. Is she going to like it? Is she going to be good? Be fussy? Our general thoughts were that she was going to be good, but you just never know with kids. Their moods change constantly and you can only hope for the best in a given situation. Well I'm here to say that Alexa was FANTASTIC! She did so good and since they had kiddie cars to sit in for their haircut, she was ready to jump right into the Barbie Jeep as soon as we got there. They had packages of different things to go with a haircut and we picked the one that gave us a first haircut certificate with her hair and picture, and Alexa even got a mini manicure with her haircut. SHE LOVES MANICURES!!! I can't wait to take her on dates to get our nails done!

Alexa's first movie in a theater!

Matthew and I thought it was time to take Alexa to go see her first movie in a movie theater. We thought we'd make a mommy, daddy, daughter date out of it and have some dinner before the movie started. Since we already had tickets for Century Theater we went there to go see Ice Age: Continental Drift. Alexa has already seen the first 3 movies and since she loves the characters we thought it would be perfect for her first time. We didn't know what we wanted to eat and since Matthew and I usually go to Acapulco, that's where we ended up since it's right next to the theater. Alexa had a lot of fun drinking her shirley temple and eating her pizza. We had chips and salsa on the table and she took a chip and dunked it in the salsa and ate it. She actually didn't mind the taste but I was unsure about how it would affect her skin on the way out, if you know what I mean. She has sensitive skin so I didn't want to take any chances.

Matthew and I were really excited to take Alexa to the movies. Once we got into the theater and sat down she asked for candy, so Matthew went to go get some and he came back with candy, an icee, and popcorn! Alexa did her first movie right!

They had really cute cartoon movie previews for the kids so it kept her entertained..... that and her goodies! Overall, she had a great time. She was the best little girl she could have been and Matthew and I would love to take her to another movie soon. We actually saw a preview for a vampire movie coming out. It looked really cute, and I think Alexa would like to go and have another date night with her parent's. Now when we put the other Ice Age movies on she asks for Sid, one of the characters, and when we say ok we'll put it on, she says "no Sid that way" and points to the front door! She is so cute and funny! Best little girl ever!
