I can't believe I have a 2 year old already! It seems like just yesterday I was in the hospital giving birth to Alexa. Happy Birthday baby girl!

My birthday was definitely an interesting day. Matt took off 5 days from work, so he was with me for most of the week! The morning of my birthday was a good morning. Alexa woke up, we fed her, played with her, and then she went down for her nap. After she woke up we got her ready to go to the mall. On our way to the mall we stopped in to see my Grandpa Joe. I knew he probably had forgotten my birthday because my grandma would always remind him and now that she is gone it's up to my aunt or my dad to remind him. He was very happy to see us and he did forget my birthday. He loves his great-grand babies, so he was holding Alexa's hand and walking with her around the flowers. She was having a lot of fun. After we left, we were finally on our way to go shopping. However, our little adventure was not as fun as I hoped it would be. I already knew that Matthew was only putting on a smile because it was my birthday, but Alexa was not having a good time and she was showing it. I went in a few stores that I had gift cards for and Alexa was wanting to get down and walk around. The problem is that even though she wants to walk around she can't walk. She still needs someone to hold her hand. Our backs were already hurting from some stuff Matthew and I were helping my dad do, so bending over and holding her hands didn't sound fun. I don't know if this is a girl's thing or what, but Alexa has a huge attitude now. If she doesn't want to do something she will let you know by pushing it away, yelling, or crying. So what did I do? I walked in the stores and immediately walked out. I did get a cell phone cover that Matthew bought me at the mall for my birthday, but even that was not as enjoyable as I wanted it to be. One thing about shopping is that I can't be rushed. I finally said let's just go, so we left. I wasn't mad at Alexa and especially not at Matthew. I was just very frustrated. Alexa is testing my patience and believe me, it's wearing very thin. I'm not going to mention the other things that didn't go right because then this would be very long, but the one thing that did go right was having my family come together for my birthday dinner. All in all that was the best part of my day and it really made everything that went wrong seem like it never happened. That's the thing about important day's, sometimes things don't go right, but at the end of the day it's the people that love you and that are there to celebrate with you that make that day so special. Alexa's Birthday Party 2.12.11

It seems like only yesterday I had my daughter, and it's funny because as I'm writing this it actually was yesterday that I had her but it was a year ago. Her actual birthday is February 13th, so since it fell on a Sunday we had her party the day before. I can't believe how fast the year has gone. Alexa is 1 now and she the best daughter ever! Her party on Saturday was awesome! I made her cupcakes, a happy birthday sign, minnie mouse heads for centerpieces, the cotton candy holders, and with everything said and done her Minnie Mouse party was exactly what I envisioned. My parents opened their home to all of our guests and it really was a great party. My dad rented a bouncer and all of the other kids had a ball jumping around. I'm very thankful to have so many wonderful people in my life and it was so nice to see how many people love Alexa. Everything was perfect!.

Since we had such a busy weekend Alexa and I are going to wait for Matthew to get home from work and spend our Valentine's Day night at home opening up Alexa's gifts together!

I haven't blogged in a really really long time. We have been super busy with school, family, and bunch of other things. I'm proud to say that Matthew and I have a resolution to not eat out and we have been clean for 20 days now haha! We realized that we spent so much money on fast food these past few months and that we really needed to stick to buying food in the grocery stores.
Right now Matthew and I are trying to buy our first house in Corona. I know I know, first we moved out of my parent's house to Corona then we move to Anaheim Hills and now back to Corona. It's really cheap out there and you can get a lot more for your buck. So far we have made a few offers on some places, but because they are short sales it may take a while before we hear anything. We would really like to be out of our apartment before July, because that is when our rent goes up, but it really doesn't matter because it also gives us time to save more money the longer we wait. We are really excited to buy our first home together and we really want this one townhouse, so wish us luck that we hear some good news! I just have to say that since we have been trying to buy a house, Matthew and I watch nothing but the DIY channel. (At least until Vampire Diaries comes back on next Thursday YAY) For those of you who don't know it's the do-it-yourself channel about home remodeling. We love watching it! Our really good friends that were our neighbors here in Anaheim Hills moved to Corona in December, so it will be nice to be close to them again. I'm super excited because it's going to be a new chapter in our lives.
Speaking of a new chapter, my adorable daughter is turning the big ONE next month. I have no idea where the time has gone. I remember the morning my water broke at 2AM and riding in the car thinking about meeting Alexa as if it were yesterday. She isn't walking yet, but she pulls herself up to a stand on EVERYTHING and she crawls really fast and get's into EVERYTHING! Planning her 1st birthday party has been really fun because I've made a lot of her party decorations and I also made her party invitation from scratch. Her theme is Minnie Mouse and we are going to have food, fun, and more fun! My dad rented a bounce house that has Minnie and the other Disney characters on it, so it's going to be awesome! I just really hope the weather is beautiful like it has been the last few days. Maybe my grandparents in Heaven will put in a good word and clear the skies for me! :) I have really enjoyed this past year with Alexa! She has touched so many hearts and she is the best baby I could have asked for. She smiles all the time and she is great with everyone!  I'm in a really great place in my life right now and I'm having a blast!

I made her Tutu and I took her picture against a wall  that we put a bed sheet over! It wasn't the best place, but it worked out perfectly!

Matthew's 26th Birthday

The day before Matthew's Birthday we bought some Carne Asada and Chicken Asada to BBQ for his B-day lunch. It was so good! Next time we go, I will take a picture of the place we got the food because its the kind of place that looks like you would want to have a man with you when you go haha.
We first started off our day by going to visit Grandma & Grandpa Fairbanks!


Then we went to Denny's so Matthew could have his Strawberry Waffles with a side of hash browns that he still has yet to perfect.

We came home with our full belly's and relaxed on our new comfy couches. They are the best couches ever!

After a few hours we went to the pool and BBQ'd our lunch. It was a delightful day!
