This morning started off really great! Alexa slept in until 8:20! She has never slept in that late before, so it was nice to just relax for an extra hour. After she woke up, Matthew, Alexa, and I had pancakes and eggs for breakfast! They were delicious! Since my parents went out of town for the weekend I went grocery shopping so we can have some delicious meals for this weekend. I have been craving a few meals, so this weekend was the perfect time to make them. After breakfast we played in the backyard with sidewalk chalk and then played in our game room until about 30 minutes before Alexa was to go down for her nap. So for about 30 minutes, we decided to watch a few episodes of Mother Goose Stories. It's a really old TV show that I used to watch as a little kid, and I just learned that Matthew used to watch it too. I love finding out new things about each other. I found it on Netflix and thought Alexa might like to watch it, and I was right! She loves it! It's funny because every episode we watch Matthew and I keep saying, "Oh, I remember that!" It's cool to know we both liked the same things even when we didn't know each other. After Alexa took a nap, we had lunch and then we decided to take her to Irvine Park. I really love this age because Alexa is very curious and loves being outside! We walked around Irvine Park and also indulged in a little snack. It was a perfect afternoon! After the park, we came home and I started making guacamole and taquitos for dinner! I'm happy to say that I satisfied one of my cravings! After some more sidewalk chalk, a bath, and a movie, it was time for Alexa to go to bed. Can't wait to see what we do tomorrow!

18 months old!
I can not believe how fast the time has gone! I know I keep saying this in many of my posts, but when you have a child it seems like they grow up way too fast! I can't believe that Alexa is already a year and a half years old already! This time last year we were in Utah and she just learned how to sit up by herself on her actual 6 month birthday! I look back at younger pictures of Alexa and I wonder where my little baby went and when did she become a toddler! To celebrate, Matthew and I took her to Irvine Park! We rented a paddle boat and went on the train! We only stayed for about an hour since Alexa had to be back for her afternoon nap, but we had a lot of fun with her! It was really hot so Matthew and I kept pedaling to 1 of the 3 shady spots on the lake. We just kept going from one to the other and so on. It was really fun! We actually forgot how tiring pedaling the paddle boats actually were, so to cool off we had some Icee's!

Nerf War!
My Husband works for a new company as an SEO, search engine optimizer. He helps real estate agents from all over the US rank their websites well on 3 major search engines. He has been doing website stuff for years, but started working for this company just this April. He really enjoys working for this company and as you can see he really enjoys his 45 minute lunch periods too. Some of the employees shoot each other in the office and on most days, on their lunches, they like to go to the nearest park and have a Nerf war. Here are a couple of action shots.
Beach
My sister, really my sister-in-law but I call her my sister because we are so close, came into town for a week and a half and we did so much fun stuff. She really wanted to go to the beach and at first I didn't think Alexa and I were going to be able to go because Alexa takes 2 naps a day, but we went pretty early in the morning and stayed for only a couple of hours and it was actually really perfect. We got there before a lot of people, and we left when a lot of people were starting to crowd the beach. It was a perfect day!
Whenever I go to the beach I can't help but think about Tsunamis. I always make sure to watch the shore because the water recedes when a Tsunami is coming haha. It always makes me think about what I would do if it were to happen right then and there. Anyways, we had a lot of fun!

This is why you have kids! (jk)
My parent's went to the Swap Meet on Sunday and came back with a kid broom for Alexa! Lately she has been getting into the spice rack next to our bottom oven and she has been taking the salt out and shaking it onto the floor. So what do we do? We get the broom out and sweep it up! She started to notice what we did when she spilled something, so she wanted to start holding the broom when we would clean up her mess. Now she has her own broom and she loves playing with it! A couple of times she has picked up her broom and opened up the spice rack to get the salt and start shaking it out so she can clean it! How adorable is that?! She later realized that now we screw the top so no salt comes out, but she still had fun thinking she was making a mess. We love this girl so much!
They also came back with a very pretty butterfly balloon! We all thought Alexa would have popped it by now, but it's still inflated. She does try to put her mouth on it, but when we tell her to stop she is pretty good about listening. I just can't believe how much she understands now! She is getting so big and time is flying by way too fast! This pregnancy is going by fast too because Alexa takes up all my time!

4th of July
We had so much fun on the 4th of July! Fireworks are illegal where we live, so we didn't have any, but it's okay because we had beautiful weather and a pool! Alexa, Matthew, and I spent most of our day in the pool! It was very relaxing and Matthew and I got a little color! My dad made pork ribs for dinner with mashed potatoes and corn! It was delicious!!!
Matthew and I didn't realize it until July 5th, but the 4th of July marks the day that we have been together for 9 years!
This was taken right before or just after he had asked me out!
This is where it all began!
